I had just gotten to work that day when a friend chatted me up and told me to go on twitter and see what’s trending. As someone who prides himself on being “latest” on happenings. I opened my twitter app and boom I saw Seun Egbegbe trending. Being a Fuji fan myself; I mean I grew up listening to Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, Kollington Ayinla, Sefiu Alao, Shina Akanni and a host of others then in latter years, I became a huge fan of Saheed Osupa and the likes of Pasuma Wonder, Remi Aluko, Malaika and others, I definitely knew who Seun Egbegbe was but I never knew he was into shady deals. I knew him from the numerous praises the likes of Osupa, Pasuma and Malaika gave him and I just knew him as a socialite and he claims to be a filmmaker but I was surprised that morning to see him beaten blue and black and being accused of stealing Iphone 7.

I mean by all ramifications as to me knowing him from my favourite Fuji musicians, I knew he was quite okay financially but as to him stealing was a difficult pill to swallow but he is human and human being do things. There was a lot of back and forth as to him (Seun) being guilty or not with everyone throwing in their own takes and bit but something struck me that day which is that everyone has a day of reckoning.

He was arrested according to reports and later released and everything seems normal not until some few days later when news had it that the same Seun Egbegbe was caught trying to defraud some Bureau De Change operators somewhere in Gbagada and he was apprehended with unwavering evidences, taken to the police station, charged to court. The most painful reality about everything is that the Seun was granted bail with some condition one of which is a bail sum of N2, 500, 000.00 (Two million, five hundred thousand naira) which he hasnt been able to meet up till now.

The question is of all the people he (Seun) claimed to have helped or helped, isn’t there anyone who can stand as surety for him including those famous Fuji musician he spends most of his money on? Well, thats a question for another day.

The main theme of this write up is that the said Seun was so much obsessed with material things that he wouldn’t have minded defrauding people just to get it which is sadly many people’s reality this days. The most interesting aspect of his life is that he was a socialite which means his name is always mentioned in Fuji musician albums, live performance and he did a lot of things including terrible things according to report to remain in the good books of those artiste but interesting since his incarceration, those same Fuji artiste he so much coveted has released many amazing work of arts and his name wasn’t even mentioned not even for a second which shows you that everyone is replaceable once you’ve outlived your usefulness so if you like go and dip your hands into nefarious things just so you can be relevant and or impress people, the moment you are caught, the same people you are trying so hard to impress are the same people that will deny you.

Be safe!!!
